Question about NPS and Tax Planning under the New Regime (FY 2025–26)

My taxable income under the new regime is ₹12.69L, so after marginal relief my tax is around ₹72k.

I’m thinking of investing in NPS just this year (~₹70k) to bring tax to zero and then stop next year.

Has anyone done this before? Any tips or better ways to reduce tax for a single year?
