Quarterly Variable

Its 3:30 am, just saw the payslip. There is a deduction of 48% in quarterly variable. Recently i got promoted to BPO5 and first time I got deduction. Strange thing is that I was getting more salary at BPO4 grade. What is the benefit of getting promotion.. Unbelievable!! That too in Diwali. I think this is the reason why people are leaving company.
