Quality of posts on GV declining

Over the past few months on GV, I'm seeing the same old posts about salary discussion, which offer is better, interview tips for a specific company etc. I am not into any of those topics. When GV started out, the quality of posts were much better and more authentic. These days it feels like it's turning into another Quora. Just 1 in 20-30 posts has something authentic and new. Not sure if everyone is facing the same issue or I am in the wrong communities. Thoughts on this?

I don’t see anything wrong in discussing salaries or comparing offers. Many people don’t have anyone to guide them or lack the confidence to talk about it openly. Here, you can discuss anonymously, without fear or judgment. In my view, it’s the right platform for such conversations.

And the engagement is way worse. Even if someone's asking a genuine thing, it's hardly a few 2-3 comments mostly

I feel the same. Genuinely thought provoking posts and discussions are getting fewer and far between.

Nothing's wrong with discussing salaries or comparing offers. What's wrong or can be done better imo is the variety of posts and post preferences. Or at least have an option for the users to turn off posts from a specific topic like how twitter does. The platform becomes boring and monotonous when 90% of the posts you see are on the topics that you're not interested in. Back when GV started, there were some engaging personal stories about the daily and professional lives of people on GV. It shouldn't be another case of Quora but with anonymity.
