PwC - Worst team.... I have never ever seen this before
Today, my colleague was publicly criticized for missing a team call, despite informing the team that she would be commuting to the office during that time. The senior manager's response was to suggest that she should commute earlier to attend the 10 am call, which would require her to wake up at 5:30 am to complete her household chores and prepare for the day.
Considering our team's demanding work schedule, where we typically log out at 11:30 pm or 12 am, and then have dinner before sleeping around 1:30 am, this expectation seems unrealistic. This would leave her with only 4 hours of sleep each day.
What's concerning is that this criticism was made in front of the whole team, in her absence, and without considering her exceptional performance as a top performer in our team. The call's format is primarily for managers to share updates, and team members are not expected to contribute much.
The senior manager's tone and approach seemed unreasonable, and it's hard not to wonder if this company truly values its employees' well-being. Is it really worth it to prioritize attendance at a call over an employee's personal life and health?
I'm worried about my future.... This is not the first time we are facing the issues from Managers, I just wanted you all to know how the silly things are getting pointed-out.

Why is anyone still surprised with such events in corporate India. Please come out of such a mindset and accept or leave. No one is going to help you or your colleagues. It's a single player game my friend and of you feel not right leave. They will get hundreds like you lined up my friend and you will get other companies too. Be realistic and less emotional:)
