Pwc variable component

Hi everyone,

Can someone please help me understand how the variable component is given in Pwc which is 8-25% of CTC ?

Is it given on a monthly or quarterly basis ? If it's given on a quarterly basis, what's the least percentage of variable component one can expect ??
