Pune vs Bangalore

I'm planning on moving, and my current options are pune and Bangalore. I have a WFH job, so I don't need to travel.

For context, I've previously lived in Bangalore for years (college, and then early work life). So I'm familiar with the city. Pune, not so much - I knew the city years ago since I'd make short visits, but I visited it for a day recently and looks like much has changed.

My question:

  • Looking at rents online, which of the two is better in terms of value for money? I'm older now, so I want to stay in a nicer place with better surroundings.

  • What's the party/dating scene like in Pune? I know Bangalore is more open and social. So whats the comparison.

  • How bad are the autowalas/cabs in Pune compared to Bangalore?

  • As a designer, what's the social networking scene like in Pune as compared to Bangalore? What are the career prospects?

  • What's the overall vibe of the two places in comparison.

Preferably looking for opinions from people who have lived in both places, rather than people who are pro Bangalore or pro Pune.

Any other helpful insights would be great.

TIA

Got for Hyd or Indore if you have these options.

Pune and Bangalore both have language issues (mostly due to politics, people are good)

Don't have friends or colleagues in either of these places. Also both are further away from my hometown, so feel like settling in would be an issue.

Except the rent (Pune is cheaper) and Autowalahs part (all know Hindi)... In all other departments, Bangalore is better option.

More job opportunities.
More social networking scene.
More party/dating scene. (Pune also has but less when compared to BLR)

How big is the gap in your opinion between pune and Bangalore in these areas (job, social, party/dating)
