did my google pm loop last week (L5). still recovering tbh. figured i’d drop this here for anyone prepping.
first off if you're googling google pm interview questions hoping to find “the question” that gets asked every time... lol no. they rotate stuff hard. but here’s what i got:
product sense: “how would you improve google calendar for hybrid teams”
execution: “a metric is down what now?”
analytical: metrics stuff + sql (did not expect that)
behavioral: all the “tell me about a time” with 3 follow-ups each
googliness: yeah that’s real. not optional.
think i did ok in product sense and behavioral. execution was rough i rambled. interviewer didn’t say a word after i started, which somehow made it worse?? 😅
also, don’t mix up google program manager interview questions with PM ones. very different role. saw a guy prepping for PM and he got a PgM interview and tanked because it was all execution/delivery stuff.
i looked at some google product manager interview questions and answers on blind + glassdoor useful to get a sense of format, but don’t just memorize. they’ll smell it a mile away.
mock interviews helped way more. also, timing yourself answering out loud is HUGE. they move fast.
anyway, not sure if i passed. recruiter said i should hear back this week. prepping myself emotionally either way lol.
