I'm currently working in JL4 when I checked with my Manager for promotion to JL5 since I have total experience of 7+ years(3yrs in infy) he shared me a screenshot of the chat with the DM stating I have been nominated, what does it mean will I be promoted in the upcoming quater or else I still need to wait?

two types of promtions are there via recommendation or through IJP

you need to get confirmation from PM, or may be u need will asked to apply for some IJP

Until you connect with him frequently it won't happen on it own
Nominated doesn't mean you will get promoted. It's just to make you wait for a quarter.
