I'm working in Accenture from 2yrs, my lead promised me promotion but is insistent on P3 level in my competency portal. Is it really mandatory?

18moP3 level isn't mandatory, but it's often used as an excuse. Promotions depend on performance, visibility, and sometimes, politics. Be proactive, get certifications, and make your achievements known.

I've done the global certification, my seniors are quite happy with my work. I have P2 competency but my lead yesterday said it's really difficult and I have to have P3 for her to support me.
