Promotion Q1'24 cycle

I'm eligible for promotion. Can i tell my manager to forward my profile for promotion. I have heard promotion recommendation will go generally at the end for each quarter ie Q1'24. June end. And how much time it will get to receive a promotion letter? Pls guide.
