For lateral hires how many years minimum needed to get promoted C2 to C3A?

Joined TCS as C2 with 7 YOE. Got my C3A after 2.5 years - total 9.5 YOE.
Interestingly, my friend joined TCS with 7.5 YOE and TCS offered him C3A. 😐

How many appraisals you got? Seems like atleast 2 bands should be there. It’s a fishy company man, nothing is clear.

I have joined with 4+ experience now I am 6+ when I asked they said you need 7 total for C2 to C3A. And 3 bands should be there.

First year we get rating only, still 3 bands needed or 1 rating + 2 bands enough?

For lateral hires total experience should be at least 9 years and I think at least 1 appraisal. This is not mentioned in/based on any policy but general observation so far.
