Promotion mail
Hi everyone, Just wanted your thoughts on something. My manager emailed me saying he has recommended me for a promotion in the next cycle. Can I trust that? Does it usually happen if they send a mail like this?
Also, any idea when the next promotion cycle is?
Trusting she/he has It's not guaranteed that it will happen, lot many discussions happen and under current circumstances, not sure when cycles will open again

There is no such thing as recommended for next cycle in my knowledge. Whenever the cycle opens, the recommendation is sent by the managers based on the priority. So in my openion, he is just buying some time to fool you in the end.
Promotion initiation is not a big deal, getting promotion is .. promotions have been stopped since Dec 24 and there is a huge backlog for whom promotions were initiated in the year 2023 & 24. Even if your promotion is initiated, it will take a minimum of 2-3 years to be on the promotion list. So better look for opportunities in another organisation rather than waiting for the promotion.
Is just you or the cycle is open for all eligible associates?
In 2025 alone, 4-6k out of 28000 eligible people were promoted to C2 grade. chances are real slim. I'm waiting for more than 14 months, account level clearance done long ago, but pending on corporate ever since
