I am currently working as a software quality engineer with 2.6 years of experience and I asked for promotion to my manager.He took my details on April 9th. Can I expect a promotion in the next quarter?
Your management should give your name to higher management and they will decide when to promote, Don't expect promotion just by thinking your manager took your name. I have 3.6 years of experience and I'm still SSE my manager said my name was given for the promotion list in the month of February and no updates till now, until you get mail telling you are promoted it's not confirmed you will be promoted.

I’m in the same boat, bro. I’ve got 3.10 years of experience(lateral), and my manager told me he nominated me for promotion last quarter. But whenever I follow up, he just says it’s up to HR and the delivery manager to decide when to promote. Do we need to talk to someone to speed things up? I’ve got a good rating and DQ score too. Also noticed some folks with just 3 years of experience already got TA—not sure what criteria they’re following
