Promotion from C2A to C3

I am a lateral entry with total of 9 years of experience and 3 years in TCS. When I asked my manager he says I will be eligible for promotion after 4 years. Is it true.

Not really .. from your experience you are eligible.. just something your manager is avoiding

Yeah, it usually takes around 4-5 years for lateral entries to get promoted from C2A to C3. Your manager's input is pretty important in this process
