Trending @Accenture; Promotion Drama

My manager frequently tells me that I'm doing a great job, but also mentions that it's not enough for a promotion - I need to go above and beyond client work.

I agreed and took on additional responsibilities, performing well in those too. Now, while my manager is pleased with my performance, they're asking me to wait another six months for a promotion. This promotion is already being delayed for two years.

How should I handle this situation? Any suggestions?

He is trying to make fool at the end and we become that fool by accepting extra responsibility

Exactly!! He is making you do extra work with same pay.. and this will keep continuing.

The mantra is, work as little as possible but just enough to justify your employment.

If he says great job, it internally means - you bafoon be ready for additional responsibilities (without promotion)

Resign before they give you a PIP. It creates a bad impression for next company you join.
