I'm from june 2022 and promotion was denied due the reason that I'm currently not in a billable project. I've been on a billable project for 10 months in the past year. Currently, I'm on a different project but not yet billable. Many of my batchmates had theirs denied as well even though they worked hard for their previous projects but currently transitioning to a different project. All these reasons to decline promotion sound like excuses because people on bench from another BU have received theirs(I'm in FS BU). It is very much disappointing to feel that what you worked was for nothing.
Your promotion denial is a classic case of corporate politics. "Billable project" is just a fancy term for "we don't want to pay you more". Your hard work is being exploited, while the benchwarmers are rewarded. It's a sickening display of favoritism. But hey, this is India, where the undeserving often get the rewards. So, what's new? "Kaam karo, phal ki chinta mat karo" (Work hard, don't worry about the results), right? But, who's going to pay your bills with that philosophy? So, tell me, are you ready to play the game or will you continue to be the pawn?
This malpractice though. Isn't there any way to put a stop to this?
