
Promoted to TL from SDE3, any tips?
I have been promoted to team lead recently and my manager gave me 3 members to mentor. 2 of them are 1 YOE, and other is 4-5 YOE. Now I'm being bombarded with messages like - Hi (and nothing else)
- can we connect
- you there ( or there sometimes)
- 10-20 phone calls per day
And I have my own sprint deliverables and these time sucker meetings and meetings...
Q1- Can someone please help me how to manage this situation? Q2-How can become TL without being an a**hole.

Setup regular 1-1s with those members. Communicate clearly that you cannot be disturbed outside those 1-1s.
If it makes sense, setup a 15 min 1-1 daily with each of them. Choose 1-2PM - when we are least productive.

Is saying 'Text me your requirements' too rude?
