I am in a situation where I need to relocate to my hometown anyhow to seek family support for my kid but I am in project which has location constraints to work from. I requested my manager for relocation but he said it’s not possible due to the constraint. When I asked for a release he said he would be putting a negative feedback if I insist on taking a release. Currently I am not sure what to do. Can anyone suggest what can I do as I need to move anyhow by April. Moreover I am not able to focus on my work due to the mental trauma I am going through.
You can look for internal switch through jobs portal once you get finalised you can ask for release with mandatory notice period in current project
The market that I am currently allocated to doesn’t allow internal switch. There is hell lot of politics. My manager told me to request for a release I need to be in that project for at least 18 months. I was hardlocked in jan and the project will end in June. I don’t understand how will this notice period be valid.
yeah that’s a necessary condition for switching internally or for asking release you need to be in project for at least 18 months
We can relocate to the closest location without anyone's approval. That is in policy. I took a transfer from Hyd to Gurugram by just informing manager. Talk to HR if they are creating issue
