(cognizant) Am not having interest to continue in my current project anymore. So planning to move into to some other project. what is the process to get the release? Does it impact my career in cognizant to get new project?

Not at all, but it is all upto your manager decision, if you have good rapo with your manager then you will get released by them easily and you will get lot of calls from other projects. If not then it is not in your hand !
