Project Release
I have asked for release . Need to work on different technology. I have also cmpleted hands on courses for that technology on TCS portal. Is this enough to ask for release for working in new technology.
Completing courses is a good start, but not always enough. Discuss with your manager and HR. Be persistent, but patient. Outcomes can vary.
This is a complicated topic. You have to be fair to the company and the company has to be fair to you as well. So I would say that you would have to stick with what you get for 1 maybe 2 years before trying the following. In those two years, learn the technology that you love, get certified in the technology (either external or internal) and initiate the discussion with the Supervisor + Manager and RMG. Wait for sometime (2 Quarters) and if nothing is working for you. Start showing dis-interest and dedicate your full time for your learning skills. This is ought to get some escalations since now you are not doing any work aside from learning. Its important to do bare minimum work because you may get into trouble if you start abandoning your work.
Once you are feel comfortable in the technology, start applying for other jobs and once you get an offer you can either ask to have your project changed + higher compensation or migrate to the other company based on the offer you got. Trust me when I say this, if you even remotely spend 20 Hrs per Month on any skill and do the above, you will surely get hired in Big 4
