One of my team mates is pregnant and this project is working in Shift B. It's really becoming difficult for her in this project. The late night works will impact her health. In this case, can she ask for release from the project?

Yeah definitely, but if she's important to the project they won't release her. She can try to talk and set boundaries of her work timings.
