PROJECT Related Issues

Hi All, I have total 7 years of experience as an ETL Developer, recently joined one organization and allocated to an projected but the project is on support and enhancement. This project artitecture is very confusing, Can one help here to understand is support and enhancement project is good for future growth. Very confused to take any discussion now.
