Project joining reg

Hi

I am in bench since august. I have got call from one account stating that they are going to work in new technology , they will get new projects. I said ok to them . I have interest in that technology. After that no response from them . I didn't fill up for self appraisal since I am in bench . They said they will allocate me in the project soon. Will it affect my appraisal? Or I will default band C ?
