Project Hassle

In my project there is always pressure. I am 8 YOE java developer and sometime I thinking about the worth of being overwork all the time. I am sure you guys also in lot of pressure except few lucky ones. What do you do to motivate yourself in this scenario. Is there any way I can change to a better project?

Is this pressure thing in projects started recently. All the projects have so much pressure working 9 to 12 almost daily. Always there is a deadline always there urgency. It's like they are trying to juice the sugarcane to last drop!

Even I am java developer and facing same issue lot of work pressure, askd for release multiple times its not really possible without proper reason with lot of followups and approvals required. Motivation is we have commitments and dependencies so need to find our enjyment. Spening with family or friends etc.,

I am not much experienced to give you advice, but what I would do is let the manager know that workload is more and we need more people in the team. If he/she does not agree, then convince him with the scenarios like when you get multiple deliverables at the same time, and even if you can finish work early, finish work in time taken by some avg developer, do not sweat just because you can, unless you're at fault. Give clear reasons as to why it will take or it took that much of time, like the issues, challenges, bugs, delays or dependency from other team, etc. Then finally it will be the choice of manager, either manager will let you go, or will expand your team. Also, whenever you are facing a lot of pressure, it is totally valid to take sick leaves, tcs sponsored health checkups, tcs sponsored mental health consultations. You can also try delegating more to the people under you, document processes

I hear you, buddy. Sometimes a chai break or a quick walk helps me reset. As for changing projects, it's possible but requires some networking and patience.

Liked your positive suggestions. Chai break actually works. Yes true project change is not a easy cake walk. Cheers.
