Trending @Infosys; Probation Period Extended!
Hi, I joined Infosys as a lateral with 5 yoe in September 2024 and since then I am on bench. My probation period was about to end on 2nd March 2025 and now it has been extended till September 2025.
They hired me in a unit and there was no project opportunity (as they hired me for a particular project to which i rejected due to night shift and health issues), just got 2-3 calls more for other projects out of which only 1 client interview was taken.
Now in February 2025 they transfered me to another unit where initially I got project calls but they did not take it ahead (Major reason being no previous experience in the domain).
I am worried if this will result into termination or something. I am shit scared as I have family responsibilities to take care of with a home loan as well.
Please give your thoughts and share your experiences on this topic if any.
Haha..You made your own probation get extended. Attitude matters more than experience at times. When we take people in project we expect an asset who would make life easier..Thats obvious that they are giving you more time to prove yourself as you were unable to. They could have even moved u out after 6 months. 2 options- Look for another job or prove yourself now
Thank you for the judgement passed, but that's not the case. The did not mention anything about the project while issuing the offer letter or in the interviews. They just mentioned that we have multiple opportunities in the unit for you. And it would be the normal shift. That's it.

I hope they mentioned about night shift when they hired you and you agreed with them to get the offer letter. If you agreed and denied to join the project, project has already sent a bad feedback against you to HR and resource allocation team. This the reason where you didn't get call from other project. After joining Infosys, you can't deny any project. You can continue for sometime, then you talk to your lead/manager for your replacement, they would be happy with this approach. Better to look other Opportunities outside.
No they did not mention anything about the project or night shift.
I have received calls in that unit but for totally irrelevant roles where i did not fit and also in other unit, where I cleared L1 round with other bench people but they selected other person as conveyed.
