Trending @Infosys; Proactive Retention hike

Hi all, I got an offer from another company but on discussing it with my manager, he told he can manage upto 30%hike and gave my name for proactive retention because all other members in the team are new joiners. Has anyone been through this? How much time does it take for the hike to reflect? I did not put my papers and accepted to the hike because of two reasons.

  1. My work and pressure is actually not too high and I have the benefit of work from home.
  2. There have been instances in past where my manager has done what he has said, so there's that trust.

Don't believe.. move on... You will get nothing till the next appraisal cycle and at the end the manager will tell you how he has tried for your hike but no luck.....

Never ever fall for these kind of managerial tactics. If you are comfortable at the current project and wants to leave, you probably are looking for new environment and salary jump which would happen in 3 months (notice period) So if your manager has promised to retain you, ask him officially over email for the below two things 1: Whats the offer 2: When will the offer be effective from

Matching an offer means, giving you the same hike in the same timeline offered by the other organization. In your case, 30% hike within no longer than 90 days

These are just tactics to delay your resignation. Your juniors will get scaled up in new few months or he would get some existing SME into the project to handle the situation. Don't fall for this. Get a guarantee that he'd be retaining you immediately or else tell him you'll get out

It takes 6 to 12 Months or never.
Sometimes they may hit you reverse by saying no budget, by that time your juniors get trained well n strong enough to handle project n u ll b thrown out. Care full man.
