Price of loyalty
I've been working in TCS (in a single project) approximately for 6 years. This is my first company. I worked as manual tester for 2.5 years and then moved to development. I work day and night. Sometimes I log off around 2 am. Yes, I got some compensation benefits. I received around 30% hike (not promotion) post covid. Without that I couldn't move to my base location from my hometown (both are 600 kms apart). Then earlier this year I cracked digital and then got ITA promotion. My package is over 10 LPA.
I am sole earner of my family. I have my parents and my sister as my family.
My mother is a cancer survivor. She has a history of TB, acute pancreatitis, gall stone (operated), ovarian cancer and a incisional hernia. Recently she is having problem with chest pain which is possibly caused by some digestion issue.
My father is a neuro patient. He had stroke in 2022 and after that he was never same. He has psychological issues. He also has dementia and problems with knees.
My sister studies in a renowned university of a city which is roughly 500 kms from my hometown.
I bear costs of my parents' living and medical expenses, my sister's educational and living expenses and my expenses. I have literally zero savings and in some months I need to take some credits.
I need to travel frequently to my hometown due to medical conditions of my parents. I cannot move my family to my base location as my father has dementia and he usually forgets direction to home. Atleast I've many acquaintances in my hometown as my father was running a business. If I move my parents to my base location and what if my father gets out and couldn't find way back to home. This is reason I fear to move my parents to my hometown.
I get a bit relieved once in a three months when I receive QVA as it helps to clear all credits (basically clearing all my backlogs 😅). But this month o received half QVA. Due to this, I'm in a bad condition. HRs and managers don't understand my situation. Yes, I know I recieved half QVA as my attendance was below 75%. But I need that money. My family complete depends on me.
I don't know whether I'm getting this as price of my loyalty to TCS. I don't know whether I should switch or not!

Switch my friend. I switched after 14 years. Too late but i did it.

So. How long it took for the prep and switch after you decide to switch

Why you want to be stuck in TCS explore outside there are still companies which will give you wfh and you will get a good package also

Hardworking people like you deserve better recognition and rewards. This company isn't going to do that for you. There is no value of loyalty. The more loyal you are the more you will be exploited. In a friend's words - dogs are loyal too. No insult meant. All the best.

I don't no why people expecting too much from corporate, please refer to continuously switch

We are living in capitalist world , my friend !! There is no value of loyalty.
Select Sunrise areas like AI, ML and build your knowledge using all L&D resources.
As you are still quite young , it make sense to try switch in couple of jobs, if you getter better Company, better salary.
But keep focus on buliding knowledge and skills in Sunrise areas.
You should Target to build such a good profile that not only you have depency on Employer but dependency should be mutual ! At least that you should aspire for 🙂

They don't care even if you slogg for days and nights.
