I recently got selected in a project by in Alcon it’s showing as pre-production and also the project manager is not giving any task not getting me involved in any meeting, can anyone please let me know what is pre-production of a project means and does it really mean I am in the project.
You can utilise this time to setup the workspaces/projects that you'll be contributing to in your machine, explore the codebase, explore the layers of the application communication, learn appendix technologies of the project, and so on. When you are expected to start working and be productive, above mentioned things should not become a headache at that time. Granted, the manager and team also have to be supportive.

Pre-production typically lasts for 3-4 weeks after that tasks will be assigned and the Alcon status will change to Production.
You will be allotted to proj production code soon.
