Post graduation in non-cse tech domain after graduation in cse
Hi, I've done my B.Tech in CSE and now have a 4.5 YOE as a software developer. As the time is progressing I've observed that computer science may not be as relevant of field anymore as it was 10 years ago in terms of jobs & opportunities. Now what I was thinking is to do post graduate in a non-CSE field but still in some sort of technological field. Has anyone ever done that ? Is it worth pursuing this route ?

your observation is blinded by the lack of experience. Computer Science is becoming more of a research field than just programming basic logic for a website. If you can't move to research in any subfield of CS, then it is fine to look for other fields. But even there, you will find AI and automation disruptive.

@battletoads So what do you suggest ? In what domain should I pursue higher studies in CS ?

I do not know about your interests but emerging technologies like cloud, blockchain, ai, security are all going to develop more in the upcoming 10 years with all the hype and bubbles. So there is money to be made at present. However I can't say if these will survive after 10-15 years. After 10 years, I believe quantum computing, space engineering, and robotics will be as booming as AI right now. Battery manufacturing can be the next big thing for the indian industries given EV demands are increasing as well as it is required in all kinds of devices these days. So battery engineering is a way to go as well.
