Trending @Accenture; Poor Career path by Accenture💔

Hello Grapes. I did Mechanical Engineering which is Non IT background and joined Accenture in Aug 2024. After that SAP ABAP was the stream allocated to randomly but I was given preference for Cloud AWS, Data Science, Power BI and my last option was SAP ABAP which I heard/read first time.

A training provided for freshers in ABAP for 6 months and Boom💥. I hard locked to project in between training which is working in SAP MM (Totally different Stream). At that time I've to complete training for ABAP and also learn about MM in KT session. So that period was very stressful for me.

Talking about project - We are team of 4 just monitoring some websites and dashboard in 3 shifts. A Morning 6AM - 4PM B Afternoon 1.30PM - 11.30PM C Night 9.30PM - 6.30PM.

I asked for some interesting and development related or ABAP related work. So our TL keeps saying we don't have any open positions now and will inform if any requirement is there.

Talking about work life balance There is no holidays on weekends, public holiday, any festival, 1st may too. Means if you're having regular holidays or weekend I'm definately working on that day. I was working on Diwali too in Night Shift🥲. We work accordingly roster(a timetable of month). In that we get weekoff in weekdays(Mon-Fri). There in fixed weekoff for me. Someday i work 2 days someday i work 6 days, means random working days and random weekoff. I want holiday in April month then i need tell before 15th of March. How some can plan 1 and half month before.

I feel very downgraded to explain this to my parents and friends. If my parents or friends makes any plan i don't have time for that or I've to plan thing 45 days before. I feel very shameful about this.

No Growth, No Work Life Balance, No Career Stability, No Mental Peace, No Me Time.

In my case Accenture checks ✅ list of all disappointments.

All you need to do is get out of that support project.
Upskill yourself to other tech and try to get new projects with development work. If this doesn't work, go for a switch within the tech you are ambitious.

I have been in your shoes at the start of my career but now I'm working in a totally different environment.

I'm transitioning my career but due to these shifts I can't study consistently. Facing difficulty to schedule my upskilling.

I'm still working in same project from 2.5 Years with same shift.
Random working days, random Weekoff. Accentures Project changed scenario of me for Corporate Life.

Talking about outing and Party- Since i joined no outings happened and in period of 2.5 years only 3 dinner happened.

I faced the same issue, I dropped paper recently, I too joined Aug 2023 and wanted a development stream but was allocated a support stream. I tried to change but no luck. When I joined the project as a freshman I had no senior to guide and everything was so new , I was in morning shift still in same shift but logout is 10 pm 11 pm because no one from next shift knows the work, and not interested too Now I asked the rolloff to change to something else like development ,lead scheduled call with HR, assistant Manager and senior manager, in call he said i don't work efficiently, not know many things like that while he himself is not aware what works I do. I got one senior as a teammate since 1 year with 4 Yr experience, she makes big mistakes and goes on leaves, my lead told all people that mistakes are made by me and my performance is so poor that they are thinking of putting me on pip

Dropped the paper and stopped working, that girl made another 2 big mistakes, he tried to show it as I am the one who did it but failed because I was on leave,

Now he gets scolding here and there which is satisfying for me personally, I got offer after 1 month in the technology I wanted, salary increase and 5 Day work with weekends off'

Happy to hear that!

The days are not going to improve any more buddy. It's going to get worse. Tech companies are going through some major overhaul. You can cry and weep. Or you can put your chin up and upskill ruthlessly and move out and find opportunities elsewhere. Let me know if you want to connect with someone for career guidance in ABAP

Thanks for the positive reply sir and connect for ABAP. But now I'm not interested in SAP at all I don't know why? I have been working on upskilling for the past 2 months but not ruthlessly, now I'll.

Hey, dont get demotivated. Its not just with Accenture but every service IT company where you will 95% be placed in some support projects as a fresher. Even I was trained in something and got placed in a support project for sometime. So that is ok. Glad that you have completed sap abap. N learning sap mm will never go waste. If you have completed atleast a year in project, pls ask for roll off stating your health conditions on irregular shift timings. Brush up your sap skills meanwhile and you will get good projects. The idea is to learn and take some action instead of regretting . All the best!! 🙂

Thanks for the positive input. Earlier I asked for a roll off but they said they can't release me for 18 months though it's completed now. I thought I would continue with this project and learn side by side so I've been into Data Analyst things for the past 2 months. As I don't want to pursue SAP because it's irrelevant to my interest. Hopefully it'll work🙂

I am also a mechanical graduate. For the first 3 years of my work , i was in tcs in multiple support projects like SAP basis , production support etc . Also, i did night shifts in those projects . At that time , i started preparing for cloud & devops through utube ,udemy .,whenever I got time i tried to study. So start doing self-study or enroll into some course .and if you are fresher then you have ample time of study.so start doing self-study.
Right now..I am in Accenture at level 10 in cloud & devops projects .so keep hustle.

Yes I'm on it now. As I can see most of the suggestions are to upskill and switch.

Brother me being from cse stream i got allocated to NON IT training and that sucks 🥴 I'm not even able to change the stream, i have 3.5 star rating in secondary skill yet I'm not able switch the primary skill

I Also asked for change of primary skill but it's not possible and depends totally upon people lead/manager.
