PocketFM fired more that 100+ employee without proper reason generally they say "team restructuring" .
Thousands laid off from India and US teams. The problem is, it came like death. The message of lay off came suddenly.
I want to know if companies want us to serve the notice period before leaving, then why don't they even give notice to find a new job?
I was the only breadwinner of my family and I am nowhere now. How should we go ahead with this? Do we have any legal options? Can we sue #pocketfm . What they did was absolutely unethical and 100% wrong.
To the most of us, they used to pay peanuts. But still we want to know our legal stand here.
Try to consolidate the people who have been laid off and file a case collectively. Try to involve media in n this as well along with labour ministry and NITES. Try to reach out to NITES. Put something on twitter and LinkedIn regarding the same. Resharing may help

All the laws are only for the employees. Companies are free to exploit the slaves. In USA can sue but in India be ready to be harrassed.

There’s nothing you can do but move on. Take this as an opportunity to find a better org and don’t forget to put emphasis on the fact that you can join IMMEDIATELY.
Man, I was interviewing at pocket fm 3 weeks ago. HR didn't get back although I was positive.
I feel confused and puzzled after being affected by the Pocket FM layoff. Without any notice, a surprise layoff left all of us unemployed and in financial trouble. As the sole parent, this unknown event has put my family in a tough spot. It appears unfair that the company required us to give notice but failed to offer the same care during layoffs. Now, I'm wondering if we have legal options to challenge Pocket FM's sudden termination. Major issues about business responsibility and worker rights have been brought up by this situation.

No notice. They just texted that you don't need to come from tomorrow and she got paid for the 15 days she worked.
