Does anyone know about the product culture at Jar?
Anyone who works there/has heard something about the company about its culture/product market fit/runway etc?
Any leads would be appreciated 😄
I just want to know how designers and pms are placed in a company?
Because where I work I feel the PM is really dumb and she doesn't understand ux or even a bit a sense of visual design on how ui should work. She says "I don't really care how a button looks as long as it's there on the page".
And I keep her in loop for feedbacks and she just doesn't understand the problem statement. Initially I thought maybe I'm not explaining it correctly but it's almost a year now and I feel she's dumb.
She's actually a friend of the CEO so she agrees to whatever he says and he's kind of similar so I don't really know what to say.
Also, I always work on a new project without having a PRD in place. So again is that how it's supposed to go where I do the PMs job and a product designers job or how is it?
Any comments or thoughts are appreciated 🙏
More often that not designers have to instill the value that investing in good design brings in their teams and companies.
Rather than fighting over how the button should look, learn to speak the PM’s language. Try to understand what they are trying to achieve, Better CTR on the banner? Lower funnels drops? And use that to pitch on why a particular button would work better.
If not, just A/B test and prove it.
Once you build that credibility, it’ll get smoother

What the devil is PMs business in search solutioning man? They talk to engineers from another team to understand the solution and then explain that solution to another set of engineer/ds team and brainstorm on what the solution should be...
Whenever you a call PM fraud here, they come & put justifications like you don't know business, products built by Engineers are shyt, only PMs can build good products, engineers don't prioritize business needs bla bla.

Looking at the sad state of UX market in India makes me think about the scene few years back. In 2018-19 many folks who found coding or other roles a little difficult switched to UX.
UX design was glorified even more by few design in...
