PM job market is that bad ?
Hi All,
How is the market right now ? I have been trying to apply for jobs for a month but not a positive response. How is the experience with you all?

I’ve had a different experience than most here. I receive one inbound every 2 weeks, very high intent.
I have gotten 3 offers in the last month, 2 at higher pay and one at lower pay.
The highest offer has been more than 2 crores and I’m likely going to take it. 11 YoE.

Getting calls is 1/10 apply for me based on 8 interviews shortlisting applied for around 80 job apply.
Final conversion is low as too much supply of foreign grads/niche domain PM. In fact, I know Google PM who was laid off last year, was not able to get the offer with even 20% less demand.
Too much competition for Rs 20 lacs+ PM jobs. Hold tight the winter is coming. Also, I feel may be luck or fitment criteria is large factor going from Round 1 to the next round. I was able to go to round 2 in 3 out of 8 interviews.

It's very bad, in most companies the higher management fired a lot of PMs and are not looking to hire new ones. The problem with a PM job is, companies only hire a PM to get out of the mess that they've created. And once the dust settles, you no longer need a PM unless there's a crisis again.
