I haven't ever given a D band to anyone, but this year a guy came really close to earning it.
He was released from his previous project, because he was not working there and saying that he was from cloud background and wanted to work In same area. I interviewed him technically and gave details work details before on boarding and he was all fine. After on boarding he just wouldn't work, won't share status and give some lame ass excuse when asked for reason.
I observed for a month or so.
Then have him a really simple task. A 5 minute task. He didn't do for a day. Next day I asked him to share his screen while doing the task so I know what issues he was facing. Faced no issue and task was done in 5 minutes.
Never knew the reason why he did what he did. Had to finally kick him out, so his band was not in my hand.
