Please suggest!!!! Not happy in the current organization because of the domain which is allotted. Should I leave the company or stay there
Hi all. I need your advice. I passed out in 2023 and joined Capgemini as a software engineer. I have been tagged to the Guidewire project but I am not getting interested in that domain because the main problem is that the Guidewire developer demand is only in service based companies and few product based only. Apart from those few companies, no one even knows what Guidewire is. I don't want to work in Guidewire. Everyday feels like I am wasting my time. I don't want to learn guidewire and waste my time. My manager has now even started scolding that I can't even fix one jira or issue alone, I know nothing about guidewire and to be honest I don't even want to learn it Whenever I get free time I have started learning mern stack development. But this will take a lot of time to do it properly and then switch to another company.
Now what should I do? Stay in Capgemini only till I get prepared in 1-2 years completely or leave the job and focus on learning mern.

Take a 10-min AI interview to qualify for numerous real jobs auto-matched to your profile 🔑'I don't want to work of guidewire' oh boy it didn't work like that.
Did you have options back in clg whether you "want" to study & give exams for environmental/ Engineering graphics / maths3 even if those were irrelevant?
There's no guarantee that you'll get work on mern stack either. It just doesn't work that way.
Thanks for replying. I am not saying that I should get mern only, but what I meant is I want to learn and work in a domain which is in demand outside. Be it mern,Java, python, cloud,ai,ml etc. I have just started my career I don't want to waste my time in learning something which has very little demand outside.
Every software will have you doing some stuff that you absolutely hate sometimes for months. If you don't feel like it's good for you, do the bare minimum work to keep your job and in the meantime learn other stuff for switching your job. Wouldn't recommend you quitting in this job market.

I work in latest tech and still it is not interesting. It’s the thing with tech you know. It doesn’t matter what you are working on. My suggestion- go to work, get paid, get home. Don’t do too much neither too less. Just work for what you get paid for.
Thanks for replying
This is called culture shock. You haven't got out of it. Sitting in one place for 10hrs takes time to adjust. Some get over it in 6 months. For some it will take 2 years. So this is normal. It has nothing to do with the job profile or company. This miserable feeling will come with you wherever you go, what ever tech you work.
Welcome to the corporate world. You have just another 35 years to go.
Please don't work on something you do not like. Given the situation, as many others suggest please enroll in a course or learn through online resources until you get the right opportunity. Build your resume with a focus on mern stack development and try to jump asap.
