My current status shows as "in production" from January through June in ALCON. However, I am not presently assigned to any specific projects. I'm curious to hear perspectives on the potential advantages and disadvantages of this situation. I asked my manager to be assigned any task or projects.

check the duration. if its 1 month or something, seek for some projects. check with your manager once.

then you can just chill and learn. safe and stress free.

This can be changed at any time. Production for short time , pre-production, training all these codes are temporary basis. I would suggest you to complete some course in lex and learn each and every day when you are free. In worst cases, This will help you to get allocated in any other project or another company.

As you are allocated to something u are not on bench so relief. But if this keep on going they might release you anytime which put you in trouble. There is no skill development if you are concerned on that. Better to get engaged with some task.
