Please read ( 1 min read only 🙏🙏 ) : Cruel and unethical behaviour from founder regarding colleague's equity

I am very much disheartened. Yesterday, I got to know about one of my colleague being terminated just two days before his 1 year ESOP cliff. Our whole team was in shock. This is something that's very much disturbing for everyone. He built the entire core product from scratch and used to sleep in the HSR office. He called the founder to discuss his pending deliverables and appraisals. One of the HRs , informed him regarding his sudden termination , there were no valid reasons and no guilt in the founder's voice. The first statement he said was "We need a different culture fit to survive this funding winter...." And on the other hand , Look at the decency and the amount of faith and loyalty this guy is bringing on the table , before his own wedding he's working late nights and shipping features and in return he gets nothing from the leadership but a termination just with a greedy motive to save equity ?

You all must have read the other incidents of startups doing brutal overnight layoffs.

I am requesting all of the founders to atleast show some ethics for your employees.

I am requesting every single folk who faces this type of shit. Guys remember we work to live , not live to work. Just confront if you are facing toxicity at your workplace , give priority to your actual salary and yourself over these fake ESOP dreams. These monsters don't care about anything. Confront.. confront.. confront....

Please save yourself and others by being united.

Name and shame the company

I really want to, but we are waiting for his full and final settlement to clear first. I don't want the founder to hold his pending salary out of spite.
