Planning to Buy Alto K10 VXI AGS @ ₹5.65L (NCR) – Worth It or Better Alternatives?
Hi folks, I’m considering buying a Maruti Alto K10 VXI AGS at around ₹5.65 lakhs (on-road, NCR). Usage will be ~90% city driving and ~10% mixed (highway/occasional trips).
The major goal is to have a car as a hedge (convenience + backup), not heavy daily usage. Would love inputs on: Service & maintenance costs (real ownership experience)
Reliability of the AGS gearbox in the long run Ride quality & comfort in daily city traffic Any known issues / drawbacks with the K10 Also, how does it compare with:
- Celerio
- S-Presso
- Tata Tiago
or any other alternatives in this budget? Trying to understand which one makes the most sense from a practical + reliability + cost of ownership point of view. Thanks in advance! 🙌

Unless you are getting some tax benefits do not buy a car. Especially if you are not a heavy user. Most cars purchased by individuals lie idle. Either at house parking or at company parking. Many people see only the buying cost for deciding. There are a whole lot of hidden expenses which will bite into your wallet. Yearly insurance, maintenance - not just the service but you will incur cost for cleaning it weekly/from time to time. Then comes the fuel expenses. Your better half/friends/family will talk about those "long drives". Trust me, after the Third trip it will be a drudgery. We are not a car country. Most of us do not need cars. Its just not worth it.
this is no longer a question of affordability. am sure, CG pays enough to buy even a bigger car. Its a matter of financial prudence. If you are happy contributing to ladli behna yojanas of the country with the salary that you get after paying taxes, then go ahead, any car is fine.
