Trending @HCL; PIP!!!

A person who gets an PIP(Performance Improvement Plan) in HCL. Will it effect the current compensation letter (yet to be released in Dec 24) or will effect the next appraisal. Can anyone share the experience about the impact it has on one's career and how to come out of it.
