Today (01 Oct 2025) something shocking happened. The Karnataka government is already trying to impose a “congestion charge” on vehicles passing through the ORR. I’m someone who values civic sense far more than most people around me — I prefer public transport or walking wherever possible, and I even stay near my office to avoid adding to Bengaluru’s traffic.

This morning, around 10:05 AM, I took a bus from Munnekola Bus Stand (near ORR) towards ETV. Usually, at the stop near Oracle (24x7), a lot of passengers get off and the bus empties out. But today, suddenly 7–8 people boarded the bus in a suspicious manner. One of them threw some money on the floor, and as they bent to pick it up, I felt a hand in my pocket. I immediately moved aside and held my phone tightly. That confirmed my suspicion — they were pickpockets.

I got off at New Horizon College Bus Stand and noticed that the same group also got down there. When I stood watching them, one of the men came up to me, started abusing me, and even threatened me saying, “Jaldi se ja, warna yahi par kaat dalunga” (“Leave quickly or I’ll stab you right here”). Imagine the audacity of such criminals.

I’m sharing this so that everyone is aware — these gangs are very active in Bengaluru. Please be extremely cautious if you use public transport. Sadly, after this experience, I’ve decided I will no longer use public transport for my safety.
