Hey everyone! 👋 Just sharing my PhonePe Software Developer (3-5 YOE) interview experience on a public channel. It was a rollercoaster 4 weeks! Round 1 (Machine Coding): Went well, but missed custom error handling (interviewer pointed it out!). Still moved on. Round 2 (DSA): Nailed it! Bread and butter, as they say. Round 3 (HLD - Website Blocker): This was an interesting one! The interviewer asked me to design a website blocker app for Chrome. The flow was: every time a Chrome user hits a URL, it gets sent to my system, which checks against their blocked list and responds. My design was okay, but I made a blunder choosing Cassandra as the DB and couldn't properly justify it. Surprisingly, made it to the next round! Round 4 (Hiring Manager - 20+ yrs): Project discussions, but my platform-heavy background vs. their payment focus was highlighted. The interviewer seemed a bit distracted too. Asked for feedback but got rejected without any. Considering my experience (2.5 YOE), what do you think could have been the main reason for the rejection?
