Have decided to go for a tier 1 mba problem is I already have a good job in tech . Salary is also fine but I think I didn’t see myself being in tech for long atleast as a software dev. Is it a good idea to go for an mba ?

Tier-1 MBA is never a bad idea, atleast in Indian context. You might not have all the clarity in this world, but try talking to people with similar background as yours and see their career trajectories. Maybe you will be able to connect the dots to make an informed decision.
I did but I got so many varied responses . Some people just straight up told not to do some said if it is a tier 1 you should go. I know it is a risk especially with the loan but after getting an admit I feel the risk is kinda worth it
It totally depends on what your goal is, if its solely monetary MBA wont make sense for a software engineer.
Also sde can have good exit options without mba - product management (try for an internal switch)
I have friends who were devs and took different paths after a tier 1 MBA. Almost all of them joined in really good firms as PMs, think top startups, ecoms, fintech etc. but after a couple of years few of them felt that they don't like the PM role as much. They loved coding more. So they are kinda pivoting. One is planning for another masters in CS. Another is starting up. But many others love the PM role. They have been promoted etc, jumping companies they are happy. So it all boils down to how you feel about coding now and maybe few years down the line. Will you miss it if you can't do it day to day? Or you'll be ok? Take a call based on that. If you are already in the 20LPA salary range a tier 1 MBA won't give much of a salary bump. So take that out of the equation. Hope it helps

Yes, its a great choice to go for MBA.
But to make a tech career out of it, you can learn the Analytics skills. By doing so, you can easily expect a role like project manager, senior analyst, and so on.
