People who have a Kindle, do you actually use it?

I picked up reading again during pandemic and since 2020 almost averaging around 12 books per year. I own a 2013 paperwhite and it still works which is amazing. This month I have already finished 2 books and almost about to finish the 3rd in another 1.5 hours.

Currently, which model of Kindle is best please? My first priority is less eye strain. Thanks in advance.

I prefer reading at night so I picked up paperwhite which has backlight. I am not aware of the latest models but you can get the basic one as well. Due to the paper ink display hou will not feel any strain on eyes, its just like reading an actual book.

Now I am focusing on learning mern and just try to read the weekly economist magzine. Once I get job I am planning to binge read many books.

I have phases, there would be times when I am enjoying reading and I can’t keep it down. There will be weeks or even months when I don’t touch it.

Got a paperwhite in 2013 and it still works, however the battery lasts only for 7 days now and I am not sure how to get the battery replaced. In the initial couple of years it was used heavily, finishing 12-13 books a year. Over time I now finish only 4-5 books a year and they happen in a phase. Once I start reading, I can't put it down but when I put it down, i don't pick it up again for 6-7 months.
Also tried out the Graphic Audio audiobooks and i just listen to them most of the time on phone.
Have only bought a couple of e-books though. You can find e-pubs easily on internet and then Calibre software helps prune them for errors, formatting issues, correcting table of contents, and adding metadata like covers thumbnails.

Brb, need to search for my Kindle 🥲

Same poll for ipad

Bought as a gift for my father; he reads a lot. But after 6 months I got to know that he didn’t use it more than a couple of times. I took it and purchased a few books but didn’t end up complaining a single kindle book. I usually finish 6-8 books in a year.
