
People on bench being laid off inspite of getting allocation recently
Was in deccan park last week, waiting at the 3rd floor and one person came out and ask me if I was called for a discussion - I said no I was not called for any discussion and I was just simply waiting there.
Then 3 people arrived who got a mail for a HR discussion.
I asked one of those guys and he said he was a fresher who joined a year back and spent 3 months in ilp training and then worked for 4 months in a project before being released. He said he was on bench from 1.5-2 months and that he even got allocation on 9th july till 31st July but he said his allocation was reduced and he was asked to come for the discussion.
He said they were asked to write the resignation mail then and there itself and were told that if they denied then there would be forceful termination and no severance would be given whatsoever.
I asked if the other two people were from his batch he said no and said that those guys were experienced who were on bench from 1-2 months
So the management is not interested in allocating projects for people on bench they are asking them to resign and leave. Not even giving a waiting period for getting allocation.
They are the ones loosing out on big projects due to their stupid policies and they are even faking profiles to client to get projects and loosing out on projects due to such tactics.
Code of conduct is being violated in almost every account.
They are making money by deducting variable pay of employees and showing profits and still they want to layoff people.
RMG are failing to schedule relevant calls for people on bench and asking them to look for project themselves.
The management seems incapable of handling this situation and lacks any empathy

Sorry to hear.. Staying on bench for more than 1.5 months made them the target.
And don't believe everything you hear as people won't admit to their misdeed. It may be possible after getting allocation there weren't able to perform..

Absolutely could the case as you said, but cant be true in the case of all the 3 people

No its not about performance its the truth. People above 50 yrs in age are being forcefully asked to take voluntary retirement and RMG is clearly saying we will not assign any projects to you now.

Two of my friends in Grade C4 and C5, asked to resign last week and released on the same day. They gave the option to choose among voluntary resignation, VRS, and Termination.

I cont believe this is happening in TCS. Absolutely brutal.

Bhai whats the problem then?
If i a run a business and its not performing well i would definately layoff the worker man.
TCS is not some charity these new gen people have misused the tcs bench policy heavily since covid now is time to let go off them.

First problem is hiring fresher's in bulk when they are incapable of engaging those many in projects
Secondly they should stop hiring from outside in such situation but so many interviews going on
Thirdly RMG is not able to map the associate correctly based on the skills
They are focussed on getting billing only by any means and ending up loosing projects
I have worked 10 yrs for 3 different companies and never been on bench even for a single day
But here in TCS within 3 years I have been pn bench thrice already.
Accounts are not able to accommodate people after hiring and releasing them
Why should it be the employee every time who has to bear the brunt
It happens here because there are no unions in india

It's very sad, but it's too late. Many people on bench for 3 years also ..But they are doing all this nonsense now and making trouble for everyone...

Hr has asked account to provide atleast 1 year of allocation. They don't want associates back in bench again. If account is not willing to provide atleast one year allocation then they are laying them off.

So they are giving severance package of 3 month notice period or that also they are not giving in all other cases ?

guys who are all on the bench try and switch it is much better to stay in tcs right now.
