People getting 2 hikes every year

Recently I came across few people who joined post July and have been receiving two hikes every year. On the other people who joined around April are getting only one hike. Can someone give somemore detail about it?

Yeah, I joined around November. In April 2024 this will be my 4th hike in my 2.6 years of service

Only people who join TCS as YG grade get 2 hikes in single FY as their package is 1.8 or 2.2 LPA
