I got 1 star rating previous year as I was on bench. Now I have got a project and performing well here. Is the promotion dependent on end year rating also? When can I expect my promotion ?
What a**hole manager. I was on bench and my manager was kind enough to give me a rating of 3.
Last year I was on sick leave for 3.5 months as I faced a major road accident and was hospitalized for 3 months, and also submitted all medical documents.I was quiet enough to get 4/5 ratings. Although I was working on a billable project, manager gave me 2 rating , for that reason only I'm still struggling to get my promotion.
Later I asked my manager about the reason behind this marvelous ratings, then he replied that you have not informed me or any team members that you will not be available for so long, that was my fault. But that time I have submitted the medical documents, that clearly says that I was in critical care unit for 50 days and was not in a condition to talk to anyone.

Yes your last year rating should be 3 or above.
