Trending @Accenture; Overwork is normalized, underpayment is justified, and mental health is overlooked
Lately, I’ve been feeling this — and I know I’m not alone.
It’s not just one company — across the industry, employees are being taken for granted. There’s little consideration for mental health or financial well-being. Almost every conversation I have with friends and colleagues includes the same story: long hours, intense pressure, and little time for life outside work.
Can we change this system?
Can we start advocating for a 6–7 hour productive workday, without the guilt? Can companies start aligning salaries to current market standards?
Many of us are highly skilled but underpaid. Taking a break feels like a luxury — not because we don’t want to, but because we simply can’t afford to, either financially or mentally. Forget vacations — even a single day off feels impossible.
Meanwhile, in many other countries, work-life balance is a priority. Most shifts end by 5 PM. And guess what? Those countries are thriving — not despite the balance, but because of it.
Working 70 hours a week won’t develop our country. But working 35–40 hours with peace of mind, space to grow, and time to live absolutely will.
It’s time we normalize a healthier work culture — for ourselves, and for the future.
Being in india with a overpopulation...we have to go through this...no other go...no change will happen...we will be forever slaves
I somehow feel we shouldn’t give up, just because we are adjusting ourselves, they are taking advantage. They can simply replace us but we can’t replace ourselves right. We all should take strong stand for ourselves. We should remind them that our well-being matters
There are 100’s queuing up to take your place. Accenture is a dream org for hundreds of thousands unemployed/ slogging in unknown borderline fake orgs with meagre salary.
The first thing Accenture gives is social validation and bump in matrimonial race. Then ofcourse the human nature of infinite wants takez over.
Could be….but within 1 to 2 years the cycle repeats, Also once the genz entire the market mental health takes major place in life. Yes we have unemployment but not at the cost of our health right? You need not be an employee at a dream firm while you are burning from inside. If we work at peace we will be more productive, we will create more opportunities to each other.
