Never share your personal stuff with your office colleague, you may never know how ppl will take that. Sometimes it can be dangerous for your career. Just do your work and come home. If you are really desperate and want to share then share with your outside friends and family, but not with colleagues.

I wasn't desperate either but how to stay composed & just do my work. How else can I handle some situations? For example, They ask me about my parents. I lost them during my childhood, what else I should say in this case?

HR ‘s Dos and Dons

Personally I don't care. Oversharing is my way of connecting. If someone abuses that trust, then they're the ahole as I've not done anything wrong. If you feel you're getting exploited, push back, answer back, be frank to the point of cutting ties. You don't deserve crap ppl in your life. Karma will take care of them.

By doing that, What's the best & worst things happened with you?
Been there, done that — messed up really badly. Took almost a year to get back on track. Here's what I learned the hard way: colleagues are coworkers, nothing more. The moment you start treating them like close friends — sharing personal struggles, fears, or vulnerabilities — you unknowingly hand them leverage over you. And people, consciously or not, will use it at some point. Keep it professional. Be warm, be polite, but guard your personal life. Small talk is fine, deep emotional dumping is not. The workplace is not a therapy room and your colleagues are not your support system. The composed version of you isn't cold — it's just boundaried. That's a skill, and it takes practice.

🙌

Remmeber office collegues or not friends. Do your work and come out of thw shit of work place. Collegues always try to exploit you , the more you give exploration to them.
