Over the last year, this community has shifted to speaking Hindi (incl me)
I don't have problem with Hindi But it isn’t the first language many prefer in this vast country
Please let us (Hindi speakers) know, we will drop our assumptions

Have noticed this same switch within my team as well. I don't mind speaking in Hindi but it feels rather insensitive towards other team members for whom Hindi is not a first language. I try to switch back to English when I'm talking, but it doesn't seem to stick and the conversation continues in Hindi. So yeah, I don't know how to fix this without offending anyone

I have made a point to ask, it sounds very trivial but could be a nice change for those who don't want to speak Hindi

Haa baat to sahi hai

One of the reasons I like to work in US based startups is this Hindi culture in many indian startups.. it usually starts from the founders itself.. in one of the startups I worked in the CEO would switch to Hindi in between all meetings🤦♂️
I agree. I don't have a problem with Hindi nor do I have any local language pride. And most hindi speakers don't do it out of any malickus intent. But they just switch to hindi mid conversation as if its muscle memory. I feel like if you work in any major city your workplace will consist of people who speak like this

Dude ... IT cell watching u... 😬
