Onsite or salary hike
Hello Guys,
Last month I have resigned from my position associate consultant and today my manager discussed with me regarding my retantion. I received nearly 70 percent hike from outside company. So I have two option from his side either go onsite with current salary package for 2,3 year or nearly 50-60% hike in India on current package.
Is TCS really can able to do this thing or its only trap. What are the key point need to keep in mind while choosing any one options.

If your reason for switching is only money, then either choose to leave or accept the 50-60% hike.
For onsite, check your eligibility for visa etc.
Do not stay if you don't get a written commitment from HR. Verbal commitments hold no value.
If there are other reasons , leave and don't look back.

Totally agree...if you plan to stay back remember to have everything in written. Do think before about the country you are being offered as in most of the country the salary which TCS give isn't enough specially if you've a family.

Dude don’t listen to anything a manager says to retain you. He is just trying to save his ass, he doesn’t have any particular love for your well being.
Secondly majority of promises are not kept and you will lose an opportunity if you listen to their words.
But if you really want to stick with TCS, ask to send whatever he said as an email so that there is a paper trail. Because in my project a manager promised something and left the project, the new manager just said it’s not his promise so he is not liable for that. So if you are promised salary increase, ask to apply it in next payroll with the revised pay structure. Adding 30-40% to variable pay doesn’t make any difference because they aren’t giving out 100% variable pay for C3A and above since last two years.

Which technology you have that gets 70% hike in TCS?
